Block by Block is hiring a Cleaning Ambassador in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The role involves high-visibility street-level cleaning, engaging the public, and maintaining a clean and safe environment in designated zones. The candidate should enjoy outdoor work and be prepared for varied weather conditions.

The position offers weekly pay, pay advances, and comprehensive benefits, with training provided. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a basic English-language reporting requirement; HS diploma

Competenze

• Ability to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift with breaks.
• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions.

• Perform cleaning and litter removal in assigned zones.

• Remove litter, graffiti, and posters; pull weeds at tree wells and sidewalks.

Job Title: Cleaning Ambassador

Pay Range: $16.50 to $16.50 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Pay Day!)

Shift/Schedule:

• Mon. - Fri. from 6:30am to 3:00pm

Valid Driver's License REQUIRED

What You'll Be Doing

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the zone assigned. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal -- While moving through the zone with a rolling trash can that has supplies/tools, remove litter: fast food bags, cups, soda cans, cigarette butts, and other debris on the streets/sidewalks and alleys. Remove graffiti and posters from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, etc.
• Pull weeds that grow at the base of tree wells, in cracks in the sidewalks, and vacant lots.
• Damp wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids, news boxes, etc.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios. Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Experience preferred, but not required. We will train.
• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided)
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
