The New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking part-time cleaners to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic environment within patient care areas in Buffalo. Primary duties include cleaning walls, bathrooms, floors, dining rooms, and furniture, while following infection control guidelines.

There are 2 positions available. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks and follow written or oral instructions; background checks will be required.

Cleaners perform a variety of tasks involving medium to heavy physical effort associated with the cleaning and caring for assigned areas and ensuring a safe, clean, and hygienic environment is maintained. Primarily assigned to patient care areas, Cleaners wash walls, bathrooms, dining rooms, floors, corridors, stairs, and stairwells; clean spilled bodily fluids and collect and transport waste within specific guidelines associated with infection control and safety; clean and polish furniture; and move furniture in preparation for cleaning. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
