Job summary

Workstream is seeking an experienced Cleaner/Janitor to maintain clean facilities and support building operations in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role requires adherence to sanitation procedures and the ability to work quickly and efficiently during a fixed early-morning shift.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, reliability, and a proactive approach to prioritizing tasks while ensuring a tidy, well-organized environment.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience as Cleaner/Janitor.

• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Clean building floors (vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, sweeping).
• Gather and empty indoor/outdoor trash.
• Clean, service and resupply restrooms.
• Clean windows, mirrors and other glass surfaces.
• Engage in building security and safety activities (locking doors, etc.).
• Move equipment, supplies, and furniture as needed.
• Inform managers about required repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain tools and equipment used for duties.
• Ensure supplies of tools and equipment are available.
• Organize spraying of fumigants and insecticides.

Main Responsibilities of a Cleaner/Janitor:

• Keep buildings in a clean condition
• MUST work 5:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
• Perform all heavy-duty cleaning
• Perform regular maintenance activities
• Engage in repair activities when needed

Cleaner Description:

We are looking for an experienced Cleaner/Janitor to feel a vital spot in our staff. We are hoping to find a reliable and skilled person who understands the importance that the role cleaner/janitor plays in an organization/building.

The person we would like to give this opportunity to should have strong communication skills, be able to prioritize tasks, and poses both a proactive and reactive mindset. We like to keep our environment tidy and very well-organized, we expect from our future Cleaner/Janitor to take complete responsibility for helping us achieve this. Please note that this position only works early morning shifts.

Responsibilities of a Cleaner:

• Cleaning building floors (vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, sweeping)
• Gathering and emptying indoor/outdoor trash
• Clean, service and resupply restrooms
• Clean windows, mirrors and other glass surfaces
• Engaging in building security and safety activities (checking and locking doors, checking electrical appliance)
• Moving equipment, supplies, and furniture
• Informing managers about required repair and maintenance activities
• Maintaining tools and equipment needed for Cleaner/Janitor duties
• Requiring supplies of the tools and equipment needed for Cleaner/Janitor duties
• Organizing and executing spraying of fumigant and insecticides

Cleaner Job Requirements:

MUST be available for required shift: 5:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
