Job summary

GDI.com is hiring for a janitorial position in Dearborn, Michigan, where you'll perform tasks like cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining restrooms and common areas. We're looking for candidates who are dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

This union position offers competitive wages and benefits as per the agreement. Shifts are Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, with drug screening required prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting assigned areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, common areas, and hallways.
• Empty trash containers, replace liners, and dispose of waste and recyclables.
• Restock supplies such as paper products and soap as needed.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting assigned areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, common areas, hallways, and other facility spaces.
• Empty trash containers, replace liners, and properly dispose of waste and recyclable materials.
• Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, and other restroom or facility items as needed.
• Clean windows, doors, surfaces, furniture, and high-touch areas following safety and sanitation procedures.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely, including vacuums, floor machines, and other janitorial tools.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Report maintenance issues, damages, safety concerns, or supply needs to the supervisor.
• Maintain professionalism while working around employees, customers, or visitors.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently while meeting quality standards and deadlines.
• Follow company policies, union guidelines, and workplace procedures.
