Job summary

Del Sol, Inc. in Bellingham, WA is seeking a reliable janitor to maintain the airport facilities in a healthy, safe, and sanitary condition.

You will follow TSA policies between secure and unsecure areas, perform daily cleaning tasks (floors, restrooms, offices), operate cleaning equipment, and support special projects while upholding safety and quality standards.

Must have a high school diploma, at least 1 year janitorial experience, and the ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Follow TSA policies and procedures when working between secure and unsecure Airport areas
• Clean and care for buildings and facilities to meet contractual standards
• Clean Offices/Meeting Rooms/all Airport spaces
• Sweep, mop and vacuum floors
• Use carpet shampoo machines to clean carpets as needed
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors and dispensers
• Refill all soap dispensers and restock all paper products
• Empty all garbage and/or recycling as required throughout the Airport
• Dust and wipe down surfaces including tables, chairs, counters, fixtures and cubicles
• Clean kitchens/sinks/countertops/outside of appliances as required
• Follow safety protocols when using cleaning supplies and cleaning chemicals
• Perform all daily, weekly and monthly duties
• Support special projects and quarterly work as assigned
• Perform all duties as assigned

Summary of Role

The janitor is responsible for performing custodial duties to ensure that the Bellingham Airport is maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. The Janitor will work closely with the Janitorial Supervisor. Teamwork and a positive attitude with strong work ethics are essential. Must have a smart device and be able to work in the US and be able to pass a background check.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow and adhere to all TSA policies and procedures when working between secure and unsecure Airport areas


• Clean and Care for buildings and facilities to ensure they are maintained according to contractual standards:


• Clean Offices/Meeting Rooms/all Airport spaces


• Sweep, mop and vacuum floors.


• Use carpet shampoo machines to clean carpets as needed


• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors and dispensers


• Refill all soap dispensers and restock all paper products


• Empty all garbage and or recycling as required throughout the Airport

Additional Responsibilities:

• Secure Storage areas and offices that require to be locked after services are performed


• Ensure Cleaning Materials and supplies are stored in a safe and orderly manner


• Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials and supplies


• Report on all safety violations, improper usage of company property and environmental concerns


• Report all injuries or incidents to the Airport Janitor supervisor immediately


• Make a note and or notify the Airport Janitor Supervisor of equipment repairs and or replacement as needed


• Notify Airport Janitor Supervisor of any duties that need to be performed outside of your daily scope of work.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Min 1 year of janitorial experience

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, bend, stoop, operate equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.


• Must be comfortable working at heights and able to safely climb and work from ladders.


• Ability to withstand odors emitted by cleaning materials and chemicals while using proper PPE.


• The successful candidate must acknowledge the risks associated with hazardous chemicals and be willing to review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to identify hazards to determine


• appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) prior to use.
