Job Details

This office cleaning position is located in Portland, Maine. Workdays are Monday through Friday, beginning at 6:00 PM for three hours each day.

Primary duties include mopping, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms, eating areas and glass surfaces. The employee will use ServiceMaster products and equipment; no equipment or supplies are required to be brought in by the employee.

Responsibilities

• Perform all cleaning duties using ServiceMaster products, tools, and procedures.
• Clean facilities by sweeping, mopping, polishing, handling trash, and maintaining offices, bathrooms, and break rooms.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE where required.
• Open and lock facilities and enable or disable the security system as required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper is a plus, but not required.
• Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, hotel, hospital, or school is a plus.
• Ability to be flexible, work in a fast‑paced and multitasked environment is required.
• Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude and teamwork, including wearing uniform, being dependable, and arriving on time.
• Respect and understanding for coworkers and customers.
• Must be able to communicate in English.

Physical Demands

Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching overhead, and reaching forward. Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.

Must read and follow cleaning instructions and must differentiate between cleaning products and their uses.
