Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment for customers and team members. You will sweep, mop, dust, sanitize surfaces, and manage waste while following safety procedures.

Ideal candidates enjoy working with people, are dependable, and comfortable using technology. Prior retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required, and physical stamina is important for lifting and standing durations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.

• Comfortable learning and using technology.
• Listen well, communicate clearly, and stay organized.
• Dependable, detail‑oriented, and eager to help.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas to support a neat, safe, and welcoming store environment.
• Sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize surfaces, restrooms, entryways, break areas, and other store spaces as needed.
• Empty trash, replace liners, and keep cleaning supplies stocked and organized.
• Follow safety procedures when using cleaning products, equipment, and handling spills.
• Respond promptly to spills, messes, and maintenance needs to help prevent hazards.
• Communicate professionally with customers and team members while completing cleaning tasks.
• Pay close attention to detail to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards.
• Support additional tasks as needed to keep store operations running smoothly.
• Must be comfortable with running a floor scrubber.
