POSITION TITLE: Clean Team - Maintenance Associate

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-Time/Hourly/Non-Exempt

COMPANY & LOCATION: Brick Bodies Health & Fitness - Baltimore, MD

HOURS OF WORK: Part-Time/As Needed

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager (General Manager/Member Experience Manager in Operations Manager's absence)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Clean Team (CT) - Maintenance Associate's goal is to provide world class customer service to both members and guests, by presenting a safe and positive impression of the club. The CT team member is a vital connection to our members and plays an important role in retention and the company's brand promise of "Making People Feel Comfortable" and our core purpose of "Changing People's Lives". The CT team member is the smile and face that maintains the club's appearance and ensures a clean space for members and prospective members.

The CT team member's attention to detail and passion for keeping things tidy, helps to make members feel confident that Brick Bodies is the right place for them. The CT team member understands the importance of maintaining the club's appearance and the impact that has on the member's experiences and exceeding their expectations to help create raving fans. The CT team member is part of a team of many other departments and is under the supervision of the Operations Manager and will report to the General Manager or Member Experience Manager in the Operations Manager's absence.

  • Because of the fluctuating demands of our Clubs' operations, it may be necessary that each associate performs a multitude of different functions. Therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other associates are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed that are not included in the above accountability list.

DUTIES (Including, but not limited to):

  • Cleaning duties as assigned by the club leadership team, including but not limited to:
  • Clean/sanitize frames and foot pedals of all cardio equipment cleaned and look like new.
  • Empty trash bins and picking up trash in the parking lot.
  • Ensure all doors, ledges, glass and corners of the club are free of dust and smudges.
  • Rerack weights, organize and put away any equipment left out in The Yard, Ignite, SHIFT, BALANCE and any other studios.
  • Dust and disinfect cubbies and lockers in the locker rooms.
  • Maintain a clean and functional space for members.
  • Keep informed of all policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Consistently enforce the policies and procedures as needed.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of functional organizational skills.
  • Understand and enforce proper gym etiquette especially during high-traffic periods.
  • Assist members with questions and direct them to the proper locations.
  • Must be knowledgeable about different types of club equipment.
  • Communicate with the OM regarding equipment quality, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Keep preventative maintenance software accurate and up to date.
  • Greet and say good-bye to members and guests.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • CPR/AED Certified.
  • Ability to follow directions well.
  • Ability to work well unsupervised.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily indoor environment with normal exposure to light, sound, heat, and cold.
  • Must be able to frequently walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp, and reach.
  • Must be able frequently move, lift, push, pull, carry at least 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to operate fitness equipment.
  • Must be able to recognize, identify, and judge behavior within environment.
  • Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and must be able to exchange accurate information.
