SUMMARY: The Clean Line Technician I is responsible for performing cleaning processes on aerospace components, including chemical treatments, abrasive blasting, and hand cleaning techniques to remove contaminants, old coatings, and engine run surface conditions. The Clean Line Technician II works independently with minimal supervision and assists in the daily operations of the clean line.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Interpreting and executing tasks based on verbal instructions, technical documentation, and customer specifications, ensuring compliance with industry cleanliness standards.
- Cleaning aerospace components to remove dirt, grease, oil, and old coatings using chemical, mechanical, and manual methods.
- Performing visual inspections to identify surface irregularities, damage, or areas needing further attention.
- Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, such as abrasive blasting machines and chemical tanks, ensuring proper use of materials.
- Documenting all work performed, including defects or irregularities, for effective communication with supervisors and quality assurance.
- Handling and disposing of hazardous materials per company and regulatory guidelines, including waste management.
- Supporting daily clean line operations, including inventory management.
- Collaborating with other departments on technical data review as needed.
- Reporting operational issues and equipment malfunctions.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree or 2 years of related experience.
- 2 years of relevant experience in aerospace or a related industry.
- Understanding of cleaning processes, chemicals, and safety standards in an MRO or industrial environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, work orders, and safety guidelines.
- Basic mechanical skills to operate tools and equipment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality in repetitive tasks.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Over 3 years of experience in clean line, chemical cleaning, or similar roles, especially in aerospace or MRO sectors.
- Certifications in chemical handling, HAZMAT, or industrial safety.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, Nadcap) and specific cleaning processes.
