Job summary

PROENERGY in Sedalia, MO is seeking a Parts Prep Operator to perform jet engine piece part cleaning and abrasive blast processes. The role reports to the Inspection Supervisor and is based at 2001 Proenergy Blvd, Sedalia.

Responsibilities

  • Load/unload hardware using lifting devices, cranes, or forklift.
  • Follow detailed instructions and procedures with limited supervision.
  • Read and interpret diagrams and specifications.

Position Summary

The Parts Prep Operator will be trained to perform Jet Engine piece part cleaning and abrasive blast processes.

Reports To: Inspection Supervisor

Work Location: 2001 Proenergy Blvd, Sedalia, MO 65301

Position Responsibilities
  • Cleaners will be used to remove grease build-up, corrosion products, etc., as well as prepare parts for the next overhaul step using various cleaning compounds and chemical solutions, spray guns, brushes, etc.
  • Completes forms associated with work assignments according to established procedures.
  • Performs abrasive blast activities for highly engineered products including but not limited to cleaning, coating preparation, and surface treatments.
  • Properly maintains and controls equipment, processes, tools, fixtures, supplies, and safety equipment associated with each specific shop orders.
  • Daily tasks will include loading and unloading of hardware and fixturing by hand, with a fork truck or other lifting devices/cranes
  • Meet or exceed core competency expectations for safety, quality, productivity, attendance/punctuality, and teamwork.
  • Read and interpret diagrams and specifications.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions, procedures, and directions under limited supervision.
  • Ensures safe working practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe clean work environment.
  • Act as a cross-functional team member and demonstrates gas turbine abrasive blast process skills and knowledge through the processing of gas turbine components and other hardware.
  • Use pneumatic and electrical grinding tools to blend defects, welded areas and restore areas back to original contours on various parts of an aero derivative gas turbine.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED, or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in grit blast processing operations is desired
  • Knowledge of proper safety practices and Personal Protective Equipment related to a repair and manufacturing operation is desired.
  • Experience with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repair of industrial equipment.
  • Ability to learn equipment functions and use (air pressure system, crane, forklift, etc.)
