Job description

About EMC Insights:

EMC Insights is a boutique energy efficiency and decarbonization program delivery firm that focuses on program design and implementation services for large investor-owned, cooperative, and municipal utilities. We help our clients capture energy-saving opportunities, optimize their energy systems and usage, and guide them in business decisions regarding their energy efficiency strategy and management. EMC Insights specializes in data-backed energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions and tailor-made programs.

What You Will Be Doing:

We are looking for a talented individual to join our team! EMC Insights seeks a proactive and self-motivated Clean Energy Technical Project Coordinator to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will be located in New Jersey or willing to relocate there within six months. You will work in a dynamic environment contributing to utility-sponsored energy management programs.

As a Clean Energy Technical Project Coordinator, you will work closely with Trade Allies (HVAC companies, engineering firms, and service companies) approved for delivering Commercial and Industrial (C&I) energy efficiency programs to ensure that customers and Trade Allies in the programs receive the support needed to move their projects toward completion. In this role, you will serve as the face of the program, developing strong relationships with both Trade Allies and customers, reviewing technical aspects of projects, keeping projects on schedule, and maintaining program satisfaction for both the service providers and customers. In addition, you will manage and promote customer engagement with building owners and service providers, being an instrumental part of the delivery and success of the program.

As part of the EMC team, you will enjoy working in a challenging and innovative environment, demonstrating interest in and experience with energy efficiency. You will also enjoy the challenge of building things from the ground up and possess the right mix of technical ability, program expertise, and interpersonal skills to educate and inspire energy-saving actions.

If you have a passion for energy efficiency and/or customer service and are looking for a challenge of building something from the ground up, let’s talk!

  • Promptly and accurately address customer concerns to assure problem resolution and promote long-term productive relationships.
  • Understand the organization and decision-making process to work with stakeholders in helping to determine project eligibility, schedule, and potential energy savings.
  • Manage on-time delivery of technical reports.
  • Commute to off-site locations to facilitate meetings with stakeholders.
  • Review technical reports, cost estimates, and energy-saving calculations.
  • Perform on-demand tasks and fulfill ancillary duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What You Will Bring with You/Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree is required, preferably in Engineering, Business Management, Construction Management (STEM) or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of project coordination experience (internships included) or similar within the energy efficiency industry.
  • Working and field knowledge of HVAC systems.
  • Experience in financial analysis of various energy projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects and work with technical staff.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment with extensive contact with clients and engineers.
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently with little oversight.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills with the ability to present energy-efficiency data to a multi-layered audience.
  • Proficient in MS office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn and use other company software.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to travel in the state of New Jersey up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to be proactive, flexible, and thorough in individual as well as teamwork.
