LiveWire Construction, Inc. is seeking a Clean Energy Development Coordinator to lead solar and BESS projects from origination to NTP.

The role emphasizes development coordination, permitting, interconnection, and stakeholder management within the Renewables Division. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in clean energy, strong knowledge of PV/BESS systems, and proficiency with project estimating and design coordination.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and propose parcels for community solar and BESS development screening.
• Prepare and submit interconnection pre-applications and applications with utilities; analyze feeder capacity.
• Coordinate permitting with AHJ and agencies; track responses and approvals for project progression.
• Assist estimating teams in preparing bid packages; develop scope narratives and review proposals.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to progress 100% IFC design sets and manage RFIs.
• Support Illinois Shines program tasks under 20-year REC Delivery Contract; assist licensing processes.

Job Description: Clean Energy Development Coordinator

We are seeking to fill the role of Clean Energy Development Coordinator for our fast-paced, growing Renewables Division. This position comes with the opportunity for professional growth and development and requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the clean energy industry. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate for the Clean Energy Development Coordinator position is a detail-oriented and results-driven individual with experience overseeing solar and BESS pre-construction projects from origination to NTP. They possess strong technical knowledge of community solar systems, BESS systems, permitting, and compliance, coupled with exceptional stakeholder management skills. Adept at balancing timelines, budgets, and quality, they excel in delivering clean energy projects that meet client and regulatory requirements.

Compensation:

• $75k-$85k

Duties and Responsibilities

• Site Origination and Site Host Control – identify, evaluate, and propose suitable parcels for community solar and BESS development screening.
• Prepare and submit interconnection pre-applications and applications for new community solar and BESS projects with utilities; analyze native feeder and secondary feeder capacity for feasible interconnection potential.
• Discretionary & Ministerial Permitting – Prepare, submit, and track all permit applications with the applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and the applicable government agencies; coordinate zoning review responses, plan review responses, corrections, and approvals to advance clean energy projects through development.
• Bidding Support – Assist the estimating teams in preparing competitive bid packages;develop scope narratives, review subcontractor proposals, and provide constructability and cost input to support proposal submissions and contract award.
• Design Coordination – Collaborate with engineers, designers, and internal teams toreview and progress preliminary site maps and single-line diagrams through 100% IFC design sets; manage RFIs and design submittals to ensure cost-effective constructability and code compliance throughout all project phases.
• SREC Support – Assist the Professional Services team with completing tasks to advance projects through the Illinois Shines program under 20-yr REC Delivery Contract.
• State Licensing – complete all state licensing certifications and recertifications with theIllinois Commerce Commission, Illinois Power Agency, and other applicable state agencies
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Up to 3 years of experience in the commercial clean energy industry
• Robust knowledge of development and installation of PV and BESS systems
• Willingness to work long hours as needed
• Ability to analyze AHJ ordinances, plans, and specifications to solve problems
• Estimating capabilities including project financial evaluation
• Microsoft Office Suite proficient, Excel expert

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, renewable energy, or similar field preferred.
• Regulatory and project development experience is preferred.
