The Role We Want You For
In this role, you will manage the organization and direction of project construction activities and oversee total site management including supervision of client contractors, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, and finance and accounting. Your leadership will ensure project operations are compliant, safe, timely, within scope and budget, and clients are satisfied.
This key project leader for Clayco’s Field Operations team will oversee construction of $100M - $500M or more and will be assigned as the Construction Manager/Superintendent on Mission Critical projects.
The Specifics of the Role
- Responsible for the organization and direction of all on-site construction related activities and the primary contact for all project field activities.
- Ensure construction operations are in compliance with design, specifications, and that construction operations are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Responsible for site management including management of construction subcontractors, professional staff such as field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, finance and accounting services, and workforce services. Maintain detailed daily reports.
- Ensure development and execution of project plans including automation, environmental compliance, safety, site survey, staffing, subcontracting, labor, construction execution, and work site rules.
- Implement Clayco’s safety program, security, housekeeping, and fire protection on-site, ensuring adherence to safety codes.
- Ensure the field team is qualified and effectively utilized.
- Establish and manage construction schedules, methods, staffing, materials, and equipment requirements.
- Monitor project performance, ensuring quality and schedule adherence, and address issues impacting budget or quality.
- Coordinate with project management for contractual activities, including negotiations and compliance.
- Develop and oversee training programs for subordinate personnel.
- Work with safety teams to develop and enforce safety programs.
- Manage community relations, permits, licenses, and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement processes.
- Coordinate with field management for staffing and project execution, review project schedules, and document issues impacting project scope, schedule, or budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or relevant experience.
- 20-25 years of relevant experience with progressive responsibility.
- Technical knowledge of construction methods, systems, and utilities, including high/medium/low voltage systems, BIM, and utility relocations.
- Understanding of local codes, environmental compliance, and interface management on Data Center/Mission Critical projects.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Physical ability to walk the site, climb ladders, and lift objects at least 50 lbs.
