Job summary

Ace Hardware Home Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to diagnose heating and cooling problems and to sell and support repairs and replacements at customer homes. You will assist in installations you sold and maintain clear communication with customers, coworkers, and vendors. A company truck is provided for home visits.

Qualified candidates have extensive HVAC knowledge, a strong customer-service mindset, and the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks on site.

• A deep understanding of heating, AC, and IAQ equipment and HVAC system designs.
• Ability to diagnose and communicate HVAC issues clearly.
• Strong customer service and professional conduct in homes.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing heating and cooling problems in customers' homes.
• Sell repairs or replacements of furnaces, boilers, coils, and related HVAC units.
• Assist in the preparation and completion of installs you sold.
• Communicate with customers, co-workers, managers, and vendors.
• Maintain a clean, fully stocked company truck for home use.

Compensation Details

$34.00 to $38.00 per hour + bonus opportunities! Up to $6,000 Sign-On Bonus for Eligible Candidates.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnosing; No heat, no AC, not enough cooling, fan only, loud noises from unit, leaking around unit, etc
• Selling Repairs / replacements of furnaces, boilers, condensers, package units, coils, humidifiers, water heaters, circulators, zone controls, heat pumps, air handlers, etc
• Assist in the preparation and completion of Installs that you sold
• Communicating with customers, co-workers, managers, and vendors
• Maintain an orderly, clean, and fully stocked company truck of which you are provided to take home

What You Need To Succeed

• A minimum 10 years experience in the trade
• A valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of US driving experience, is required for this role
• A positive attitude with a willingness to treat our customers with the utmost respect.
• A deep understanding of heating, AC, and IAQ equipment and HVAC system designs
• Enthusiasm to learn and grow
• The ability to treat your time in our client's home as an invited guest.
• Ability to work late when the job at hand requires it

Physical Requirements

• Physically able to work on HVAC units.
• Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year.
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
