Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

Position Summary: This position is an exempt professional staff role within UGA Extension which coordinates and distributes time as needed for the satisfactory delivery of the 4-H county program. A high level of independent judgment is needed to effectively carry out the essential duties of the job and the incumbent is expected to manage both Extension program administration and 4-H education delivery.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Work with the 4-H Youth program.

Physical Demands
  • Some degree of physical activity, including lifting, to conduct programs.
  • Some standing and/or sitting for various lengths of time.
  • Withstand various seasonal weather conditions for outside activities.
  • Driving as needed to perform job tasks.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Lead by teaching 4-H Educational Learning programs in the classroom.
  • Direct 4-H’ers in preparation for the 4-H competitive events including project achievement, judging teams, etc.
  • Transport or arrange for transportation of 4-H’ers to various district and state events and provide leadership for youth while attending these events.
  • Incorporate the results of program evaluations and feedback in planning future programs.
  • Publicize programs and workshops offered in local county or nearby counties to clientele.
