Job Details

Job Responsibilities
  1. Schedule, complete, and track all required home visits and parent/teacher conferences.
  2. Schedule and complete child developmental screenings and assessments.
  3. Ensure collection and timely online entry of classroom observations and documentation.
  4. Complete assessment checkpoints for all children within specified timeframes.
  5. Use results to create/update individualized plans with parents to address each child's needs and track progress.
  6. Plan and implement indoor and outdoor learning environments using the Creative Curriculum System, UMOS School Readiness Plan, and the Head Start Early Learning Outcome Framework.
  7. Implement daily activity plans, field trips, and transition activities, submitting required documents promptly.
  8. Implement IEP or IFSP for children with disabilities, ensuring goals are integrated into lesson planning and progress is tracked.
  9. Maintain required documentation and submit reports timely.
  10. Maintain communication with families regarding developmental progress and pertinent information using the PFCE Framework.
  11. Maintain and document the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) within the classroom.
  12. Implement health and safety policies and procedures.
  13. Participate in weekly non-federal share (In-kind) collection.
  14. Use positive guidance strategies to promote positive behaviors.
  15. Supervise children actively at all times.
  16. Coordinate with staff for arrivals, departures, environment setup, and communication with parents.
  17. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and center activities as assigned.
  18. Assist in training/support of other staff as needed.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Have an Associate's degree in Early Childhood or related field with 18 college credits in Early Childhood Education, or hold a state-issued teaching license for pre-kindergarten or early childhood education.
  • Preferred experience working with children aged 0-5.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Basic computer skills including data entry and internet use.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and adequate insurance.
  • Flexible with work hours and some travel required.
Physical and Work Environment Demands

Meet physical requirements such as standing, walking, sitting, bending, lifting up to 30 lbs., and driving as needed. Must be able to work in controlled temperature environments with moderate to high noise levels, and occasionally ride a school bus. Use of tools and equipment includes phones, computers, fax, copy machines, laminator, calculator, first aid, and fire extinguishers.
