Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Schedule, complete, and track home visits and parent/teacher conferences.
  • Conduct child developmental screenings and assessments.
  • Ensure timely online entry of classroom observations and documentation.
  • Finalize assessments within specified time frames and update individualized plans in collaboration with parents.
  • Plan and implement indoor and outdoor learning environments using the Creative Curriculum System, UMOS School Readiness Plan, and Head Start Early Learning Outcome Framework.
  • Implement daily activity plans, field trips, and transition activities; submit required documents promptly.
  • Manage Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) for children with disabilities.
  • Maintain documentation such as child rosters, attendance, meal counts, and developmental records; submit reports timely.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding developmental progress and pertinent information, following the PFCE Framework.
  • Ensure compliance with the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations, including family-style meals.
  • Follow health and safety policies, conduct safety checklists, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Participate in weekly non-federal share (in-kind) collection and generation.
  • Use positive guidance strategies and supervise children actively at all times.
  • Assist with center operations, including arrival, departure, setup, cleanup, and communication with parents and bus staff.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and center activities as required.
  • Support and train other staff members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood or a related field with 18 college credits in Early Childhood Education, or hold a valid state-issued Teaching License for pre-kindergarten or early childhood education.
  • Preferably have experience working with children aged 0-5.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and internet use.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and adequate insurance.
  • Flexible working hours, with some travel required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Employees must meet the following physical demands to perform essential functions, with accommodations considered for disabilities:

  • Stand, walk, sit, and bend frequently.
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasionally drive.
  • Work in a controlled temperature environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Occasionally ride the school bus and handle bumpy conditions.

  • Phones, computers, fax, copy machines, laminator, calculator, first aid equipment, fire extinguisher.
Additional Requirements:
  • Criminal background check prior to employment.
  • Physical exam and TB screening within 30 days of employment.
  • Complete SIDS & Shaken Baby Training.
  • Fire Extinguisher Training.
  • Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid within 30 days.
  • Registration with the State Childcare registry.
