Role Description/Criteria Classroom Teacher Position (Contract)

Applicants should demonstrate:

• a commitment to evidence-based best practices, with experience in or capacity to enact explicit and direct instruction approaches/strategies
• an understanding of Structured Literacy
• strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an eagerness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment
• the ability to use student assessment information to inform whole-class and targeted small group instruction
• the ability to promote student wellbeing and engagement
• the capacity to build and maintain professional, respectful, and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
• a firm commitment to Catholic education
• familiarity with and adherence to the school’s child-safe policy and code of conduct, as well as all other policies relating to child safety

Special Requirements:

• accreditation to teach in a Catholic school, or a willingness to obtain accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school
• current VIT registration (or eligibility for graduates)
