Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate required.
• Experience working with children in an organized setting preferred.
• Completion of Associates Degree or two years of college study or KY para-educator assessment.
• If you don't have one of these degrees you may apply as an Instructional Monitor.

Responsibilities

• Assist a certificated teacher by performing a variety of support functions.
• Tutor individuals or small groups and monitor progress.
• Prepare and organize lessons and administer tests according to guidelines.
• Assist in labs, monitor student behavior, and report progress.
• Perform routine clerical duties and maintain classroom records.
• Set up work areas, displays, and distribute supplies.
• Confer with teachers about programs and materials to meet student needs.
• Contact parents of absent students and assist with health and safety procedures.
