Job summary

Goldendale School District is seeking a Substitute Paraeducator to support students in various school settings. This role reports to the Building Principal and is vital for assisting lessons, supervising students, and collecting progress data.

Starting immediately, the candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, good communication, patience, and willingness to pursue further education. Training will be provided within the first year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work with students and maintain records.
• Willingness to pursue further education as opportunities arise.
• Basic typing and computer skills.
• Effective communication and patience are essential.
• Must pass a physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with lesson plans, one-on-one and small group instruction, classroom management, and student observation.
• Complete 28 hours of training within the first year.
• Communicate with parents and staff as instructed by the teacher.
• Supervise students in classroom, cafeteria, and on playground.
• Collect data and report student progress; maintain accurate records.
• Provide positive behavior support and participate in meetings and trainings.
• Report regularly to supervisor about classroom schedule and atmosphere.
• Adapt teaching methods to achieve student goals; participate as part of the education team.
