Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ParaPro exam or 2+ years of college preferred.
• Ability to plan and organize and communicate effectively with students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with diagnostic tests as needed.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce material.
• Develop strategies for reinforcing material based on individual needs.
• Guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial work.
• Check notebooks, correct papers, and supervise tests and makeup work.
• Assist with drill work, reading aloud, and storytelling.
• Serve as primary information source for substitute teachers.
• Assist with copying and laminating student materials.
• Supervise recess or lunch duties.
• Support the school mission and communicate concerns to the teacher.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Attend to students' personal needs.
• Record keeping as assigned by the teacher.
• Perform other duties as assigned by building administrator.
• Attend monthly staff meetings.
• Participate in staff development.
