Job summary

Broward County Public Schools seeks an Instructional Assistant to provide high-quality care and supervision for students at NORCREST ELEMENTARY in Pompano Beach. You will support teachers with instructional materials, safety, and student welfare, including lunch, rest periods, and basic classroom tasks.

The role requires assisting with individuals and groups, using adaptive activities, and following PBIP/PCM strategies as directed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with children.
• Computer skills required as needed for the position.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direct supervision of a teacher in creating instructional materials.
• Supervise and escort students to ensure safety and welfare under teacher/administrator direction.
• Provide classroom-related clerical support (notes, folders, data collection).
• Prepare instructional materials and teaching aids under teacher guidance.
• Assist with lunchroom activities and dining with students when needed.
• Assist in supervising nap/rest periods and provide care when the teacher is absent for up to 30 minutes.
