Job summary

Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency in Gallatin, TN is seeking a Classroom Assistant to provide flexible support across classrooms in the childcare center. You will assist teachers with classroom coverage, breaks, and transitions, helping maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.

The role offers hands-on teamwork with Lead Teachers and the Center Manager, requiring completion of required DHS orientation and training, plus CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: CDA, AA, or coursework in Early Childhood Education.
• Experience with young children preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Support: supervise and engage children during activities, outdoor play, meals and rest periods; provide coverage during breaks or absences; maintain a clean, safe classroom.
