Job summary

Lamar County School District at Oak Grove High School is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support instruction and assist the supervising teacher in delivering lessons and resources to students.

You will meet classes, help with planning, and supervise groups while maintaining confidentiality and dependable attendance. This role is onsite at Oak Grove High School under the Lamar County School District.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher from an accredited college.
• Minimum of 48 hours of college credit from an accredited college or pass a Work Keys test as determined by the Mississippi Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Direct any activity that will free the supervising teacher for instruction.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes at the assigned school and at times designated by teacher and principal.
• Provide office relief by answering incoming calls, greeting families, and handling light administrative tasks.
• Participate in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Guide small groups of students in independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work to reinforce material initially introduced by the supervising teacher.
