Job summary

Meridian CUSD 223 is seeking a Paraprofessional for Monroe Center Grade School to assist in instructional activities and support student learning under the supervision of the Building Principal.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a Paraprofessional endorsement on the Illinois educator license, plus the ability to work with diverse students and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Paraprofessional endorsement on educator license.
• Evidence of physical fitness and freedom from communicable disease.
• Successful completion of criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with classroom instructional tasks and activities.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to support learning.
• Maintain accurate records and protect confidentiality as required by policy and law.
• Assist with supervision of students and classroom safety.
• Prepare instructional materials and set up learning centers and displays.
• Support transitions, movement, and setup for activities and events.
• Communicate with parents as directed by the teacher/supervisor.
• Participate in required in-service and meetings.
