Job summary

Lakota Local School District is seeking an Instructional Aide / Paraprofessional to join its educational team. This 0.375 FTE position provides instructional, clerical, and supervisory support under certified teachers and administrators, helping to maintain an inclusive, well-managed classroom.

The role emphasizes materials prep, student engagement, and non-instructional supervision, ensuring equitable access to content while supporting district safety and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ohio Paraprofessional License or eligibility for certification.
• If funded by Title I must meet ESSA requirements: associate's degree or higher, or 48 semester hours, or paraprofessional assessment.
• CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention training may be required.
• Prior experience working with students or in school settings preferred.
• Must have knowledge of Excel, Word, Internet, and PowerPoint.
• Experience operating office and media equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, clerical, and supervisory support in the classroom under direction of certified teachers and building administrators.
• Assist in classroom operations, student engagement, materials preparation, and non-instructional supervision to promote a well-managed, inclusive learning environment.
• Ensure students have equitable access to instructional content and support school-wide events and activities.
• Uphold district standards for safety, confidentiality, and collaboration.
