Job summary

Exeter SAU 16 is seeking a Paraprofessional (Instructional) at Swasey Central School in Brentwood, NH. You will assist certified staff in classroom instruction to help students meet goals and relieve teachers of non-professional duties.

The role includes supervising lunch, buses, and field trips, and supporting students with diverse needs. You will work under supervision to reinforce reading, math, and language arts, and help with materials, assessments, and paraprofessional duties.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work with a diverse group of students.

Responsibilities

Assist students with reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
Prepare materials and reinforce instructional content for individual needs.
Maintain records documenting student learning and performance.
Support classroom behavioral management to keep a safe, orderly environment.
Supervise students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, study hall).
Chaperone field trips for supervision.
Distribute and use educational materials as needed.
Assist with parent contact to encourage involvement in education.
Support students with special needs and participate in IEP-related activities.
Assist students with physical or mental disabilities to participate in activities.
