Qualifications

• Must hold appropriate State of Illinois Paraeducator Approval.
• Ability to assist teacher and support classroom learning.
• Experience working with students in a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning for individual students or small groups under teacher guidance.
• Operate and care for classroom equipment used for instruction.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, recess, and field trips.
• Observe students and discuss findings with the teacher.
• Assist with lunch, snack, and cleanup routines.
• Assist with wash-up and toilet routines.
• Inform the regular teacher of problems or special information about a student.
• Serve as primary information source for substitutes in absence of the teacher.
• Support and enforce district policies.
• Participate in in-service training and attend meetings.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by administrator/teacher.
