Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• Reports to the Principal.
• Assists certificated teacher in providing instruction.

Responsibilities

• Tutors individuals or small groups, reinforcing and implementing instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Participates as a member of instructional teams and communicates with parents and team members.
• Transports students to and from activities and assists in preparation for treatment as required.
• Prepares and organizes lessons as directed by the teacher and assists in assessing English proficiency.
• Administers and scores various tests according to guidelines and records results.
• Monitors and reports student behavior and progress to teachers and records.
• Performs routine clerical duties and maintains classroom records and attendance.
• Provides support to the teacher by setting up work areas and distributing supplies.
• Assists in supervising students in labs, during lunch, and field trips.
• Provides proper examples, emotional support, and guidance to students.
