Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
• Ability to work under supervision and follow teacher/administrator instructions.
• Good general intelligence with ability to relate well to students.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the teacher to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
• Assist teachers with study hall, corridor, lunchroom, and monitorial duties.
• Prepare materials for lessons, demonstrations, and bulletin boards.
• Assist in setting up classroom equipment such as audio-visual records, computer-related instructions, and laboratory.
• Distribute and collect instructional materials to students.
• Relieve teachers of classroom duties for short periods by supervising students using prepared learning materials.
