Job summary

The Kodiak Island Borough School District is seeking an Aide II to support classroom and vocational education classrooms in Kodiak, Alaska. Qualifications

  • Strong ability to work with students, staff, parents and the public.
  • Ability to follow directions from the teacher/supervisor.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Maintain confidentiality of students, staff, school business and materials.
  • Able to lift and move up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of the teacher/supervisor.
  • Assist in developing materials and use instructional equipment with students.
  • Assist students with work or projects and duplicate materials.
  • Distribute and collect materials and help with records.
  • Support safety practices and supervise playgrounds or field trips when needed.
  • Assist with inventory and possible lunchroom, library, recess, or bus duties.
  • Monitor classrooms as required and maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
