Job summary

Washington Elementary School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers in a classroom setting. Responsibilities include distributing materials, guiding students individually or in groups, and helping prepare instructional activities.

The role also involves monitoring student behavior and safety before and during school activities. The incumbent will communicate with parents about progress and concerns, assist in planning lessons, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent and related paraprofessional requirements.
• 60 college credits or an associate degree or approved paraprofessional test.
• Valid IVP fingerprint clearance in Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by providing materials and supporting individual or small-group activities.
• Monitor student behavior and uphold classroom standards and safety.
• Prepare and photocopy educational materials and setup classrooms for activities.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
• Support lesson plans and provide feedback from students.
• Supervise students on the playground and in the cafeteria.
