Job summary

The Westfield Area YMCA is seeking a Classroom Supervisor for its preschool program (ages 3-5) at the Garwood location, starting in late August. The role focuses on supervising the classroom and planning activities in a collaborative team setting.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 2:30PM to 5:45PM. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $23.00 per hour, depending on education and experience; benefits and supportive work environment are offered by a non‑profit organization dedicated to community service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CDA/AA or HS diploma with years of experience required.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team with YMCA staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision of the classroom.
• Prepare and implement activities and classes for preschool students (ages 3–5).
• Support a safe, caring, and responsible classroom environment.

The Westfield Area YMCA is looking for caring, supportive and responsible individuals to join our team as Classroom Supervisors for our preschool program (ages 3-5) to work at our Garwood location starting in late August.

The Classroom Supervisor is responsible for assisting with supervision of the classroom, the preparation, and implementation of activities and classes.

Hours

Monday - Friday 2:30PM - 5:45PM

Pay Range

$17.00-$23.00, commensurate with education and experience

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree + 1 yr. experience; OR CDA/AA + 2 years experience; OR HS diploma/GED + 3 years experience
• Must be 18 years or older
• Experience working in a child care setting
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work as a team with other YMCA staff members
