Job summary

Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. is seeking a part-time substitute aide to assist in Head Start classrooms. Work as part of a team to support early education activities for 3- and 4-year-old children, helping staff implement lesson plans and maintain a positive learning environment.

This role offers school-year hours August through June, with an 'as needed' basis for substitutions, and requires background clearances and proof of education. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Work as a part of a team to assist in carrying out educational activities in the Head Start classroom setting.

Partner with the education staff as a support in the classroom on an \"as needed\" basis. This position can be a replacement staff for an absence in the classroom.

Staff provide and maintain an atmosphere in the classroom that promotes school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices for 3 and 4-year old children.

Luzerne County Head Start requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Proof of education required to meet the qualifications for position.

School year position, working in an “as needed” basis for staff substitutions or additional classroom support.
This position works during the school schedule August-June while Head Start classes are in session.

Rate of Pay: $14.80/hr
