Partners in Child Development, through the Anderson School, is seeking a dedicated Classroom RN - Substitute in Andover, MA. This role involves providing educational and therapeutic nursing care to students aged 3-12 with complex medical needs, ensuring their health and safety during school hours. Candidates must have an R.N. degree and experience in pediatric nursing, along with the ability to manage complex situations effectively.

The Anderson School in Andover, MA provides a safe and nurturing special education school for students ages 3-12 years old with complex medical needs to maximize each student’s independence and growth. Our highly skilled, experienced and dedicated staff provide individualized instruction and support including educational and therapeutic programming. Our stimulating classroom setting includes specially designed classrooms to promote positive and active learning. High staff to student ratios including nurses in each classrooms enable our 11-month program to have non-traditional learners experience a traditional school experience. Family support is paramount including providing various on-site clinics and services to help our parents.

We are currently looking for a Classroom RN - Substitute who will work on a day-to-day basis and is scheduled as the need arises to cover days normally worked by another nurse. Our school is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm and follows a school calendar, including a summer session.
The Classroom RN - Substitute provides comprehensive educational and therapeutic nursing care and support for students ages 3-12 with multiple disabilities, moderate to severe developmental delays, and complex medical needs. Responsibilities may include, but is not limited to G-tube feeding, suctioning, medication and oxygen administration, on-going monitoring of health and medical status of the student and can respond in the event of a medical emergency during work hours. This position works closely with parents/guardians, and a team of experienced, caring, dedicated staff including a Special Education teacher, teaching assistants, nurses and other therapists all sharing a passion for working with students with special needs.
Requirements:
R.N. degree with a current MA license.
Pediatric nursing experience with complex special needs children 3-12 years of age is required.
Specialized knowledge of young children with moderate to severe developmental delays and complex medical needs is highly desired.
Experience working in an education setting is also a plus.
Ability to use technology effectively.
Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues.
Suitable background and fingerprint checks.
Mostly active - must be able to sit, bend, kneel and lift 25 pounds.
