Job description

As a Classroom Program Manager, you will develop and oversee individualized treatment and education plans, provide clinical and instructional leadership for assigned classrooms, supervise RBTs, set the tone for instruction, implement ABA curricula such as Language for Learning and the STAR Program, and promote growth across academic, behavioral, communication, social, independence, and vocational domains.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement standards‑based IEPs and daily and weekly lesson plans.
  • Teach students to acquire academic, self‑help, daily living, and social skills as outlined in the standards‑based IEP.
  • Collaborate with students, professionals, paraprofessionals, families, and community partners to ensure appropriate educational habilitation services.
  • Serve as a resource by tutoring students in academic subjects as identified in the standards‑based IEP.
  • Participate actively in required training, continuing education, and professional development to maintain competency.
  • Participate in programs designed to support the habilitation and training/treatment of students.
  • Perform varied services including instructional, clerical, supervisory, housekeeping, and behavioral management duties related to the school day.
  • Complete reports on the standards‑based IEP goals, skills, and classroom performance of each student.
  • Conduct and supervise recreational and life enrichment activities related to the school day.
  • Observe, record, and report the condition and behavior of students, maintaining daily records of events during the school day, particularly those in the standards‑based IEP.
  • Direct support staff and RBTs in the classroom to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Consistently implement behavior management plans to reduce maladaptive behaviors and promote appropriate social behaviors.
  • Identify solutions to improve stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Update the Student Information System daily for attendance, class planning, communication, and record keeping.
  • Complete incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a student or client.
  • Demonstrate competency through performance checklists in all clinical and administrative areas.
  • Provide required 5% supervision to RBTs, facilitate continuing education or competency assessments as assigned.
  • Seek the best use of materials, equipment, and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Use effective time management to manage caseload and work assignments.
  • Provide ABA program management to clients in a school setting.
  • Apply the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and current research to decision making.
  • Remain knowledgeable of each assigned client’s ABA program and its progress, adjusting the treatment plan when sufficient progress has been made or progress is lacking.
  • Follow the direction of the Program Director regarding each client’s profile.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • BCBA or BCaBA certification required.
  • Experience in special education and/or Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.
  • Knowledge of education law and standards‑based Individual Education Planning preferred.
  • Valid Indiana Special Education Teaching License required, or current enrollment in an approved Indiana alternative licensure or transition‑to‑teaching program leading to Special Education licensure.
  • Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) or Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LABA) in the State of Indiana required.
  • Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements.
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
  • No felony convictions or substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions.
  • Successfully complete a pre‑employment physical.
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening.
