Job summary

Washington State School for the Blind (WSSB) is seeking a Project Paraprofessional to provide instruction and classroom support. This is a limited-duration project position with potential for future conversion to permanent status.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Braille certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Ability to work daytime hours M-F (approx. 7am-3:45pm M-TH, 7am-2:30PM F).
  • Pass background checks as required by law.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and support to students in the education setting.
  • Assist certificated staff in classroom work, field trips, and lectures.
  • Prepare materials and set up assignments and equipment for classes.
  • Support students with mobility and self-help needs as required.
