Job summary

Henry County Schools is seeking a Classroom Teacher to join our School-Level division. The role involves planning, delivering, and differentiating instruction, while using technology to support student learning and maintain progress records.

Applicants should hold or be eligible for a Georgia Educator Certificate and be able to collaborate with students, families, staff, and the community. Regular attendance and physical readiness for classroom duties are required.

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate or meet district qualifications.
• Ability to work with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Integrity, confidentiality, and strong professional reputation.
• Must abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
• Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
• Must be present at the physical worksite.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform routine physical activities up to 50 pounds.
• Must supervise students, especially in emergencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments per guidelines.
• Instruct and monitor students.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Manage student behavior inside and outside the classroom according to guidelines.
• Provide feedback on student work.
• Observe and assess student performance and development.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, assessments, and assignments.
• Participate in district, school, department, and parent meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
