Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required for aides not in Title I programs.
• Associate degree or 2 years of college or ESSA coursework required for aides in Title I programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher; work with individuals or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and assist with inventory and equipment.
• Help teachers keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during the school day in various settings (lunchroom, bus, playground).
• Notify teachers of any special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development and attend faculty meetings and events.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
