Job summary

Geneva County Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to assist teachers and support staff in classrooms. The role entails preparing materials, supporting instructional activities, and helping manage a productive learning environment for students.

The paraprofessional will follow lesson plans, supervise students, and assist in maintaining records and confidentiality. Strong communication and basic math and technology skills are required, with background clearances as per Alabama rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in preparing materials and equipment for direct instructional activity.
• Follow teacher unit plans and anticipate needed supplies.
• Lead small groups and assist in varied curriculum to meet diverse student needs.
• Maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.
• Supervise students as assigned and assist in record keeping and assessments.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and administrators.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow safety standards.
• Participate in training programs to increase skill and proficiency.
• Prepare required reports and assist in cross-training activities.
