The primary purpose of the Classroom Based Health Care Technician I/Trainer I (CBTI) position is to ensure safety and quality active treatment for the people residing in his/her assigned homes and day placements through direct support and service implementation. Home/day placement assignments may vary day to day as this is a floater position which may serve all 3 areas of campus when needs arise and this position will report directly to the Director of Resident engagement. The CBTI is involved in supporting the individual in every aspect of his/her life. The CBTI is part of the team providing continuous active treatment and training that is based on their needs/wishes/preferences/strengths and potential for learning. This training in skill acquisition may be generic or very specialized in nature, but in each case is directed toward enhancing independence and retaining skills that maximize resident self- determination.

This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Salary Grade MH01; Recruitment Range $31,200.00 - $44,621.00

Position 60048979 - Professional Services/Dogwood, 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm), Monday - Friday with occasional weekends and/or evenings

  • Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements: A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week). An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
  • the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);
  • the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;
