Job description

Classroom Assistant Teacher – Head Start Worthington
Overview

SMOC, a non-profit organization, has an immediate opening for a full-time (40 hours per week) Classroom Assistant Teacher in Worthington, MN to work in the Head Start program.

Specific Skills

Ability to work with 3–5-year-old children. Ability to take directions from supervisor. Ability to lift and carry supplies. Confidentiality. Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Engages in mutually respectful goal-oriented partnerships with families to promote parent-child relationships and family well-being. Respects and responds appropriately to culture, language, values, and family structures of each family served. Supports families’ safety, health, financial stability, life goals, and aspirations. Enhances parent-child relationships and supports parents’ role as the first and lifelong educators of their children. Supports families in using community resources that enhance family well-being and children’s learning and development. In addition, responsible for riding to and from the center, assisting the driver, and adhering to transportation guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

Child Development Associate credentials or willingness to obtain credentials, minimum.
