Smart Start Academy in Hoboken, NJ is looking for a Classroom Assistant to support the Lead Teacher and enhance classroom experiences. Responsibilities include assisting with lesson plans, communicating with parents, maintaining the classroom environment, and organizing materials for lessons. Ideal candidates will possess a High School Diploma or GED, excellent communication skills, and a passion for nurturing children's development. Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Experience at a licensed childcare center preferred but not required.
• Must relate well to parents, children, and staff members.
• Must communicate effectively and be functionally literate in English.
• Must have good attendance and the ability to prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with lesson plans.
• Decorate classrooms and bulletin boards.
• Help headteacher communicate with parents.
• Help with cleaning/upkeep of the classroom.
• Prepare materials for activities and daily lessons.
• Help set up sleeping arrangements for nap time.
• Assist kitchen staff with food distributions.
• Open/close classrooms as needed.
