Job summary

BlazerJobs, Inc. is seeking contract paraprofessionals to support students with severe autism in highly specialized classrooms, with placements in elementary or high school depending on openings.

Candidates must have at least one year of direct paraprofessional experience in a special education setting for severe autism and challenging behaviors, be comfortable with safety interventions, and be ready for a week-long orientation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of direct paraprofessional experience in a special education classroom with severe autism and challenging behaviors.
• Comfortable with safety interventions and structured behavioral support environments
• Willingness to assist with intensive support needs, including toileting, feeding, transfers, and active supervision
• Must reside within 35 minutes of the assignment site
• Able to attend mandatory week-long orientation prior to placement
• Must possess or obtain 48+ college credits, an associate degree or higher, or PAs Credential
• Reliable personal vehicle and outstanding attendance record

Job description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students with severe autism in highly specialized education settings. Contract paraprofessional opportunities are available for compassionate, resilient, and dedicated professionals experienced in severe needs classrooms. Assignments may be in elementary or high school settings, depending on where openings occur at the beginning of your placement.

Candidates must have at least one year of experience working with severe autism and behavioral needs in a special education school setting (PreK-12). Flexibility, readiness for hands-on support, and comfort with challenging behaviors are essential. Full-time availability is required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of direct paraprofessional experience in a special education classroom supporting students with severe autism and challenging behaviors (must be clearly stated on your resume)
• Comfortable with safety interventions and structured behavioral support environments
• Willingness to assist with intensive support needs, including toileting, feeding, transfers, and active supervision
• Must reside within 35 minutes of the assignment site
• Able to attend mandatory week-long orientation prior to classroom placement
• Must possess, or be willing to quickly obtain, one of the following: 48+ college credits, an associate degree or higher, or PAs Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators (support available for certification during onboarding)
• Reliable personal vehicle and outstanding attendance record
