Job description

Step into a vital support role where you can make a tangible difference in the lives of students throughout the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract opportunity is located in an elementary and a middle school setting and involves providing individualized assistance, including one-on-one support for studentsspecifically one with diabetes at the elementary level.

As a paraprofessional, your primary focus will be assisting teachers in fostering an organized and inclusive classroom environment. This multifaceted position is ideal for compassionate, dedicated professionals who are motivated to contribute to both academic and social success for students, particularly those requiring additional support or presenting challenging behaviors.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Illinois Para certification required
• Prior experience working with elementary or middle school-aged students, especially those with behavioral challenges, highly preferred
• Familiarity with providing toileting assistance is beneficial
• Strong communication skills and an adaptable, team-centered approach
• Ability to maintain patience and professionalism in a dynamic school environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver classroom support under teacher guidance, both in individual and small-group settings
• Provide direct 1:1 assistance to designated students as needed
• Help with transitions, classroom management, and activities throughout the school day

This position schedules 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and two 15-minute breaks daily.
