Job summary

Arrow Child & Family Ministries is seeking a One-to-One Aide to assist the Teacher in delivering IEP services and to supervise an identified student within the school setting.

You will provide individualized instruction, support, and supervision in a safe learning environment, following classroom policies and IEP directives. This role involves teaching, record-keeping, and occasional transportation duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; at least one year experience working with children and families, preferably in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe learning environment for students within Arrow Center for Education School's policies.
• Supervise and manage student behavior in the classroom, school, and school-sponsored functions.
• Provide a consistent and reliable supportive presence in the classroom.
• Escort assigned students to all activities as indicated by the IEP.
• Under the Teacher's direction, provide individualized instruction and support to an assigned student or small group of students.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to promote progress for an assigned student or small group.
• Provide an individualized learning environment supporting student independence.
• Assist the Teacher with attendance, progress, and behavioral data recording.
• May assist with student transport to/from school and activities.
• May participate in community-based activities with students (e.g., swimming, shopping, public transport).
• Participate as an active member of the Treatment Team and communicate information orally and in writing.
• Help develop and maintain a positive school culture.
• Maintain rules, safety and security of students and provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Inform the Behavior Specialist and Teacher of relevant situations.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required.
• Share Arrow Child & Family Ministries mission to staff, students, and families served.
• Review client files quarterly to assess service plan progress and future needs.
• Perform duties within contract, state and federal regulations and company policies.
• May drive vehicles and complete company vehicle training.

Overview

The One-to-One Aide assists the Teacher in providing services specified in the IEP of assigned student; provides leadership and guidance to the student(s) in a supportive atmosphere. This employee supervises a specific, identified student, as indicated on the IEP; the job is dependent on the presence of that student on the school’s roster and the maintenance of that support being approved by the IEP Team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe learning environment for students within the scope of the Arrow Center for Education School’s administrative policies and procedures.
• Supervise and manage student behavior in the classroom, school, and school-sponsored functions.
• Provide a consistent and reliable supportive presence in the classroom.
• Escort assigned students to all activities, as indicated by the IEP.
• Under the direction of the Teacher, provides individualized instruction and support to an assigned student or small group of students.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to promote progress and success with an assigned student or small group of students.
• Provide a learning environment that is individualized for students and works towards their personal level of independence.
• Assist the Teacher with completion of all necessary paperwork to accurately record student progress. This is to include daily attendance records, performance on current acquisition targets and maintenance skills, and behavioral data tracking.
• May be required to provide support to students in transport to and from school and other activities.
• May be required to participate in community-based activities alongside students, such as swimming, shopping, use of public transportation, and other activities as relevant to instruction.
• Participate as an active member of the Treatment Team. Communicates all appropriate information within and without the classroom orally and in writing.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of a positive school culture.
• Maintain proper rules, safety and security of students, providing crisis intervention when necessary.
• Inform the Behavior Specialist and Teacher of all relevant situations.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required.
• Share/transmit the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff and to student(s) and families served.
• Review client files on a quarterly basis to access service plan implementation, progress towards desired outcomes, and future appropriateness of service plan.
• Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.
• May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.
