Job summary

SGS Consulting seeks a security-minded IT engineer to modernize our Linux build and Windows environments. The role involves automating infrastructure, aligning with NIST/RMF/JSIG guidelines, and delivering secure IT solutions for classified development networks.

Required are a Top Secret clearance and DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification or the ability to obtain within six months; experience with Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and Red Hat Linux is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Computer Science or related field; associate or high school diploma workable with experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance required; SCI access possible.
• DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux, Windows Server, Active Directory, LDAP and networking.
• Programming with Ansible, Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Familiarity with NIST RMF/JSIG and IT security policies.

Responsibilities

• Modernizing Linux build system lifecycle by automating processes using infrastructure as code.
• Listening to cyber research staff needs and designing IT systems solutions based on program requirements, security guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Work with security compliance team to develop creative solutions to meet user needs while remaining compliant with government policy.
• Evolve and maintain classified development networks by upgrading hardware and software.
• Develop and refine comprehensive system documentation with diagrams and standard operating procedures.
