Job summary

South Umpqua School District 19, Myrtle Creek, Oregon, is seeking a Class Substitutes- Food Service to assist in school kitchen operations. Duties include food prep, serving, set-up, and cleaning; candidate should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work with staff and students in a positive, cooperative manner.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of foodservice equipment, and strong verbal/written communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience or knowledge of foodservice equipment and custodial duties is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to work harmoniously with staff and students is essential.
• Good physical health and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job Description

Duties: Assists in the food preparation, set-up, serving, and clean-up of a school kitchen, cafeteria, and other food service areas. Maintains the cleanliness of food service areas, utensils, and equipment.

Minimum qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of foodservice and cooking equipment as well as custodial duties. Self motivated and able to work with little supervision. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and follow written and oral directions. The abilityto work harmoniously with staff and students is a necessity.

Good physical health and ability to perform manual labor. Physically able to perform essential job functions which include lifting 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, and carrying on a regular basis.

Salary: $15.88 per hour
