Position Details

• Location: Rumsey Station Elementary School
• Hours: 5.25 hours per day / Monday - Friday / 8:30 AM - 2:15 PM

General Description

Ensures the efficient operation of an elementary school or central kitchen to produce attractive and nutritious meals for students and staff.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent; current certification by the American School Food Service Association preferred.

Experience

Two years of work experience in an institutional or school kitchen with progressive responsibility and supervisory experience. Educational coursework in food service supervision or related field may substitute for work experience on a year-for-year basis. General computer experience preferred.

Other Requirements

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, employees, students, staff, and the public.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to supervise employees effectively.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to operate a computer, cashier terminal, PIN pad, and calculator.
• Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and meal requirements per Nebraska Department of Health and USDA guidelines.
• Ability to maintain detailed records as required by regulatory agencies.
