City and County of San Francisco seeks a detail‑oriented analyst to support labor negotiations. The role provides costing support for a management bargaining team, including evaluating union proposals, performing salary surveys and drafting contract language.

This position supports the City in its labor negotiations with over 30 unions and more than 35,000 employees such as custodians, sheriffs, engineers, electricians, and nurses and is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to labor law, labor negotiations and working for the City and County of San Francisco. This position provides costing support for a management bargaining team led by a chief negotiator and consisting of a Deputy City Attorney, Employee Relations Division representatives, department representatives and with coordination with the Mayor’s Budget Office and the Office of the Controller.
This position will require some late nights and work on the weekends for a few weeks towards the end of the negotiating process in the Spring. Labor negotiations can sometimes get quite heated so an ability to handle stressful situations is needed.
The stated desirable qualifications may be used to identify job finalists at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring.
